SCOTT Adey-Linforth admits Bromsgrove Sporting rode their luck on their way to a dramatic derby win against Alvechurch.
Sporting produced a stunning late turnaround as Kobe Hall netted an injury-time winner after Luke Benbow equalised late on for the Rouslers at Lye Meadow.
Church took an early lead courtesy of Nile Timson’s early goal but wasted several chances to seal the points as Sporting stopper Adam Harrison made a number of crucial saves.
And Adey-Linforth praised his side’s resilience as Sporting responded to their opening day defeat against Bishop’s Stortford with a derby win.
Adey-Linforth said: “It’s a great win, it was a very difficult game, we had to work for that.
“We rode our luck at times, we had to defend the goal with everything but we stuck at it and went and got three points.
“The lads are tired, battered and bruised, they’ve had to work for the win and fair play to them, they dug in.
“I don’t think we were at it in the first half but I felt we got our second wind in the second half and went and got the win.
“We were very critical of ourselves [after the opening game], I knew we didn’t give the best account of ourselves.
“The lads weren’t happy either, fair play to them, they’ve shown a pair and pulled a win out.
“For too long, this club haven’t really beat our local rivals and we wanted to go and win and turn that around.”
Bromsgrove Sporting are next in action against Spalding United on Saturday, August 16 with kick-off at 3pm at the Victoria Ground.
