JAMIE Meddows scored a brace as Bromsgrove Sporting claimed a first home win since Boxing Day with a 3-0 victory against AFC Sudbury.
Meddows netted twice to put Sporting in command at the break before substitute Theo Robinson sealed the points late on at the Victoria Ground.
The result means the Rouslers sit 15th in the Southern League Premier Central table, six points above the relegation zone.
And Sporting boss Scott Adey-Linforth praised his side’s togetherness after Bromsgrove ended their four-game winless run at home.
Adey-Linforth said: “The game was a bit edgy in the first 15 minutes, the pitch was a bit lively, we were giving away a few sloppy passes and we looked a bit open on the counter attack.
“But we defended well throughout the game and scored at good times, the first goal settled us down and the second goal right on half time was a really good time to score.
“We were in control and it was nice to get the third one to top it off.
“It’s something I wasn’t massively concerned about [the home form], we’ve had a few home games where they’ve been decided by fine margins.
“I knew it would come back eventually and we’re buzzing to end that run.
“We were down to bare bones, we all needed to be together.
“We’ve done alright against the big teams, they are exciting games to play in and we want to go and win so we’ll be as best prepared to go and get three points as we can.”
Bromsgrove broke the deadlock on 20 minutes when Meddows turned home Fin Holmes’ cutback from the left from a couple of yards out.
And the home side doubled their lead in first-half injury time as Meddows placed a shot into the bottom left corner of the goal from Billy Shaw’s pass.
Robinson completed the scoring five minutes from time with a cool lob over Sudbury goalkeeper James Bradbrook after Meddows released the striker in-behind the visiting defence.
Bromsgrove host AFC Telford United on Saturday, March 8 with kick-off at 3pm at the Victoria Ground.
