ALVECHURCH manager Ian Long and assistant Richard Colwell have signed new deals to remain with the club next season.
Long masterminded the club’s run to the second round of the FA Cup which saw them beat League One side Cheltenham Town in one of the biggest upsets of this year’s competition.
Church were eventually beaten by Forest Green Rovers as Long and Colwell guided the club beyond the qualifying rounds for the first time in 49 years.
And the pair also steered the club to the Birmingham Senior Cup semi-finals where they were beaten by a young Coventry City side at the Coventry Building Society Arena.
Church’s league form fell away following their FA Cup heroics as the duo eventually guided Church to a top-half finish in the Southern League Premier Central.
Long is in his second stint as Church boss having rejoined the club from Stourbridge during the 2019/20 season.
And Church were beaten in the play-off semi-finals in the 2021/22 campaign with Long and Colwell hopeful of achieving another top-five finish next term.
