FOOTBALL - Bromsgrove Rovers AFC edge out Silhill in seven-goal thriller

Bromsgrove Editorial 3rd Apr, 2026   0

FOUR-MIDABLE Robbie Davies struck all four goals, including a last-gasp winner, as Bromsgrove Rovers AFC overcame Silhill 4-3 in a thrilling seven goal encounter, writes Neil Gordon.

Davies scored twice in the first-half before adding another double after the interval as Bromsgrove came from behind to secure their second league victory inside five days, at Sharmans Cross Road last night (Thursday).

The Greens remain seventh in Division One of the Birmingham and District Football League on ten points from eight games, with last season’s Division Three champions Silhill dropping down to eighth place.

Deadly Davies has now hit 18 goals in just 11 league games to lead the Division One goal scoring chart.

The Greens have as many as six games in hand and are back in action tomorrow (Saturday) when they take on basement side Kings Heath Rangers in a reverse of last week’s fixture, which Bromsgrove won 3-1.

And Rovers can move up to fifth in the table if they beat Rangers and both FC Stratford and Hampton Sports lose their respective fixtures. The Greens embark on a gruelling eight league games in 28 days to clear their fixture backlog.

Bromsgrove play Kings Heath Rangers at Hathaway Road tomorrow (Saturday, April 4). Kick-off is 2.30pm and admission is free.
