BROMSGROVE Rovers AFC made the perfect start to the New Year with a dominant 5-0 win against Castlecroft Rangers.
Rovers romped to victory after scoring four first-half goals as Ash Pardoe and Dan Hagyard both netted braced with Tom Hill also on target at South Bromsgrove High School.
And the result means Bromsgrove sit sixth in the Birmingham and District Football League Division Three table.
Rovers took control of the contest with two goals in the opening 10 minutes as Pardoe capitalised on a mix-up at the back before finishing into an empty net to break the deadlock.
And Pardoe doubled Rovers lead soon after with a simple finish following a goalmouth scramble before Will Joyce made a crucial headed clearance at the other end.
The home side stretched their lead when Hill headed in at the back post to finish off a rapid counter attack.
And Rovers made it four with just 29 minutes on the clock after Hagyard won possession on the edge of the penalty area before slamming an unstoppable shot into the top corner of the goal.
The hosts completed the scoring late on when Hagyard grabbed his second of the game after Rovers youngster Reece Jones hit the post earlier in the half.
Bromsgrove are next in action away at Village (C) on Saturday, January 13 in the quarter-finals of the Bill Hill Cup with kick-off at 1.30pm at Aston University.
