FOOTBALL - Chong scores first Alvechurch goal in pre-season win at Boldmere

KOBE Chong scored his first Alvechurch goal as Ian Long’s side battled to a 1-0 win away at Boldmere St Michaels in their penultimate game of pre-season.

Chong’s fifth-minute strike proved decisive at the Trevor Brown Memorial Ground as Alvechurch secured back-to-back wins.

The 22-year-old recently signed for the club following his departure from Southern League Premier Central rivals Nuneaton Borough.

And Chong showed his class as he cut in from the left and fired a shot across goal into the bottom right corner in the opening few minutes.

Church have further bolstered their squad with the loan signing of young midfielder Mackenzie Lamb.

Lamb has signed for Church on a six-month loan deal from Peterborough United under-21’s.

Alvechurch finish their pre-season campaign away at Warrington Rylands on Saturday, July 29 with kick-off at 3pm at Rylands Recreation Club.
