BROMSGROVE Sporting saw their three-game unbeaten run come to an end following a 2-0 defeat against Nuneaton Borough.

Veteran striker Leroy Lita opened the scoring before Owen Oseni’s late penalty settled the game at Leicester Road Stadium.

The result means Sporting sit ninth in the Southern League Premier Central table, two points outside of the play-off places.

A last-minute change of venue saw the game take place at the home of Hinckley LRFC after Nuneaton were served an eviction notice at their Liberty Way ground.

Rouslers goalkeeper Ollie Taylor denied Camron McWilliams early on before Luke Rowe saw a fierce effort deflected behind for a corner at the other end.

However, Nuneaton took the lead on 27 minutes when Lita drove a shot into the corner of the goal from Kacy Butterfield’s pass.

And Lita went close again just before half time as Taylor made a comfortable save to keep Sporting in the contest.

However, with the Rouslers pushing for an equaliser, Nuneaton sealed the win on 83 minutes as Oseni scored from the penalty spot after drawing a foul from Miro Pais in the box.

Mike McGrath’s side were unable to find a way through despite six minutes of additional time as the club’s four-game unbeaten run in the league came to an end.

Sporting are next in action away at AFC Sudbury on Saturday, November 4 with kick-off at 3pm at the MEL Group Stadium.
