BROMSGROVE Sporting have signed creative midfielder Nick Clayton-Phillips ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Clayton-Phillips came through West Bromwich Albion’s academy and previously played for local rivals Alvechurch and Redditch United.

The 25-year-old has also featured for Kidderminster Harriers and believes the club can compete at the top end of the table next season.

Clayton-Phillips said: “Last season was a very unsettling season for myself, so I knew it was important that I chose the right club for next season.

“After meeting with the gaffer, hearing his and the club’s ambitions and plans for the future, I knew instantly I wanted to be a part of it.

“Sporting is a massive club, with a great fanbase that are always behind the lads, which I think is so important for a club to succeed.

“I’ve been in non-league for a while now and I just want to win and compete at the top of table.

“With the players the gaffer is bringing in, combined with the quality of players that are already here, I know we can do just that.

“I’m buzzing to be here and I can’t wait to get going.”

Sporting boss, Scott Adey-Linforth added: “I’m so pleased to get Nick on board, he’s a fantastic player, who has a lot of potential to get even better.

“He had a frustrating time of it last year and he’s eager to put that right with us.”

Sporting have also retained centre-back Ash Carter for the 2025/26 campaign.

Carter scored one goal in 32 appearances for the Rouslers last season following his arrival in October last year.

Carter said: “It will be nice to be back and see some old faces and some new.

“I’m looking forward to pre season, the campaign ahead and working with Scott again.

“I’m hoping for a better season than last and building on how we finished.

“It’s safe to say I’m missing football and I can’t wait to get back to see the people around the club and the fans.”
