BROMSGROVE Sporting suffered a humiliating 5-1 home defeat against Quorn as the club’s six-game unbeaten run at the Victoria Ground came to an abrupt end.
Sporting trailed by two goals at the break as Billy Kee and Simeon Cobourne both struck to leave the home side with a mountain to climb in the second half.
Quorn extended their lead early in the second period courtesy of Luke Cox’s header before Cobourne’s second of the game sealed the points for the visitors.
Recent Sporting signing Jaden Charles scored his first goal for the club to reduce the deficit only for Finn O’Boyle to complete the scoring for Quorn late on.
The result means the Rouslers sit 17th in the Southern League Premier Central table.
Bromsgrove fell behind on 34 minutes when former Football League striker Kee controlled Silvio Bello’s pass in the box and turned his marker before finding the net.
And the visitors doubled their lead six minutes later as Cobourne finished on the rebound after Rory Brown kept out Zak Goodson’s initial effort.
Quorn extended their advantage on 53 minutes when Cox rose highest to loop a header over Brown and into the net from Mason Frizelle’s cross.
Cobourne secured the points for the visitors on 66 minutes with his second goal of the game with a curling finish past Brown from the edge of the penalty area.
Sporting grabbed a consolation goal three minutes later when Charles saw his effort deflect past Quorn goalkeeper and former Sporting stopper Adam Harrison.
However, Quorn compounded the home side’s misery two minutes from time when substitute O’Boyle found the bottom corner to complete the scoring.
Bromsgrove are next in action against AFC Sudbury on Saturday, November 29 with kick-off at 3pm at Brundon Lane.
