BROMSGROVE Sporting secured their biggest home win of the season with a 4-1 victory against basement club Long Eaton United.
Sporting took the lead through Tristan Dunkley’s header in first-half injury time only for George Atwal to level for bottom club Long Eaton at the start of the second period.
However, quickfire goals from David Solademi and Conor Tee just past the hour mark put the Rouslers in command before Elliott Ball sealed the points at the Victoria Ground.
The result means Sporting sit 15th in the Southern League Premier Central table, seven points clear of the relegation zone.
The Rouslers went close to an opener when Keiron Berry saw his shot saved by Ross Durrant before Dunkley opened the scoring with a header from close range at the end of the first half.
However, Long Eaton equalised shortly after the break when Atwal’s effort from distance took a deflection before finding the net.
The visitors spurned a glorious chance to take the lead just before the hour mark as Jack Rogers shot wide when one-on-one with Ollie Taylor.
Sporting reclaimed the lead on 64 minutes as Solademi slammed the ball home from close range after Durrant kept out Keanu Cooper’s initial header.
And Tee extended the home side’s lead two minutes later with a trademark dipping effort from 25-yards out.
Long Eaton were reduced to 10-men on 74 minutes after Riece Bertram received a second yellow card.
And Sporting added some gloss to the scoreline with five minutes left to play as substitute Ball slotted home Cooper’s pass to extend the club’s unbeaten run to five matches.
Bromsgrove travel to Evesham United on Tuesday, January 9 in the Worcestershire Senior Cup with kick-off at 7.45pm at Spiers and Hartwell Jubilee Stadium.
