BROMSGROVE Sporting maintained their excellent start to pre-season with a 4-0 victory against Stourport Swifts.
Aaron Bishop’s penalty put Sporting ahead before a brace from Billy Shaw and a further strike from Shaquille Leachman-Whittingham sealed a comfortable win at Walshes Meadow.
Sporting have won all three of their pre-season matches thus far, scoring 10 goals and conceding none.
Bromsgrove started well against Midland Football League Premier Division opponents Stourport as Reece King and Bishop both sent headers over the crossbar.
And Bishop was then denied by Swifts goalkeeper Dominic Richards when he was put through one-on-one.
However, after Aaron Roberts spurned another chance, Sporting took the lead when Bishop sent Richards the wrong way from the penalty spot after Crook drew a foul in the box.
The visitors eventually doubled their lead after the break on 79 minutes when Shaw’s driven effort found the net via the aid of the post.
Leachman-Whittingham then added another goal to his pre-season tally with a well-taken strike from close range four minutes later.
And Shaw completed the scoring in the final minute with a shot from distance which clipped the post on its way into the net.
Bromsgrove continue their pre-season campaign away at Lichfield City on Saturday, July 20 with kick-off at 3pm at the Trade Tyre Community Stadium.
