BROMSGROVE Sporting saw their winless run in the league stretch to seven matches following a goalless draw with Leiston.

The Rouslers twice hit the woodwork through Aaron Roberts and Keiron Berry but were unable to find a winner at the Victoria Ground.

And the result means Sporting sit 17th in the Southern League Premier Central table, two points above the relegation zone.

Leiston went close to breaking the deadlock Rouslers goalkeeper Ollie Taylor made a fine save to keep out Jamar Loza’s effort.

At the other end, Callum King-Harmes spurned a golden chance to put Sporting ahead, heading wide from inside the penalty area.

The home side went close again soon after as Berry headed straight at Leiston goalkeeper Sam Donkin from Jack Newell’s cross.

And Mike McGrath’s men almost opened the scoring at the end of the first half only for Roberts’ strike through a crowd of bodies to hit the post.

Loza fired wide from close range for Leiston in the second half before Berry latched onto Ollie Taylor’s long ball only to hit the crossbar from inside the penalty area.

The best chance of the game fell to Rouslers substitute Miro Pais late on only for the forward to see his shot saved by the feet of Donkin when one-on-one.

Bromsgrove are next in action away at Stamford on Saturday, December 23 with kick-off at 3pm at the Zeeco Stadium.
