BROMSGROVE Sporting conceded two late goals in a 2-1 defeat against Stourbridge as former Rouslers boss Scott Adey-Linforth came back to haunt his old club.
Former Sporting favourite Nathan Hayward levelled the game for Stourbridge eight minutes from time before former Rouslers loanee Jack Newall completed the turnaround in the final minute at the Victoria Ground.
That came after Niall Flint’s first Sporting goal put the home side ahead on 71 minutes only for the visitors to stage a late comeback.
The result leaves Bromsgrove 17th in the Southern League Premier Central table, two points above the relegation zone.
Sporting sacked Adey-Linforth back in December and replaced him with Tim Flowers owing to the club’s lowly position in the table.
However, Bromsgrove find themselves in the same league position as when they sacked Adey-Linforth.
And Adey-Linforth has lifted Stour from eight points from safety to seven points clear of the drop zone since his appointment at the War Memorial Athletic Ground.
Following a goalless first period, Sporting eventually broke the deadlock on 71 minutes when Flint slotted home Jack Newell’s long ball.
However, the visitors equalised on 82 minutes as Hayward looped a header into the right corner of the goal following a free-kick in to the box.
And Stour stunned Sporting in the final minute when Newall headed in Brad Bood’s free-kick from the left to leave the home side empty-handed.
Bromsgrove are next in action against Harborough Town on Tuesday, March 17 with kick-off at 7.45pm at the Victoria Ground.
