FOOTBALL - Bromsgrove Sporting hand out end-of-season awards

BROMSGROVE Sporting handed out their annual end-of-season awards as defender Luke Softley scooped two prizes.

Softley won the players’ player of the season and directors’ player of the season awards.

Gary Hooper, son of Bromsgrove Rovers legend Chris, presented the players’ player of the season award to Softley.

Former Rovers goalkeeper Chris made a staggering 686 appearances for Bromsgrove in the 1960s and 1970s.

Chris died in December last year with the players’ player award renamed the Chris Hooper Memorial Shield in memory of the legendary goalkeeper.

Sporting defender and captain Aaron Roberts won the supporters’ player of the season prize as voted for by the fans.




Rouslers boss Tim Flowers selected midfielder George Wynne as the manager’s player of the season.

Chairman Rod Brown handed a special award to the club’s volunteer grounds team with Rob Birch collecting the award on the team’s behalf.


And Brown presented the supporter of the year award to Lynn Harris.
