BROMSGROVE Sporting’s winless run in the league stretched to eight matches following a 2-0 defeat at Real Bedford in midweek.

Goals either side of half time from Josh Allen and Ben Stevens condemned the Rouslers to defeat at Ledger Stadium.

The result means Sporting sit 17th in the Southern League Premier Central table, one point above the relegation zone.

Tim Flowers’ side fell behind on 32 minutes when Josh Setchell squared the ball across goal to Allen from the right who finished into an empty net from close range.

However, floodlight failure plunged half of the ground into darkness shortly before half time.

The floodlights eventually came back around half an hour later which led to more than 25 minutes of injury time at the end of first period.

And Bedford doubled their lead after the break on 55 minutes as Stevens controlled former Sporting midfielder Conor Tee’s cross and coolly found the net.

Bromsgrove are next in action against Barwell on Saturday, January 24 with kick-off at 3pm at the Victoria Ground.
