CONOR Tee’s stunning free-kick helped Bromsgrove Sporting to a come-from-behind 2-1 win against Macclesfield as the Rouslers ended their pre-season campaign in style.
Tee’s superb strike from range settled a close game after Sporting’s player-manager Mike McGrath had cancelled out Kane Drummond’s opener at the Victoria Ground.
And both teams finished the game with 10-men after Rouslers striker Prince Henry and Macclesfield’s Paul Dawson saw red following an altercation between the two players.
Northern Premier League Premier Division side Macclesfield dominated the first half as Drummond, Sam Grimshaw and James Berry all spurned chances to open the scoring.
However, Drummond eventually broke the deadlock on 38 minutes after beating two defenders and finding the bottom corner from close range.
Sporting responded just two minutes later when McGrath fired a first time shot into the bottom right corner after the visitors failed to deal with a teasing cross.
In the second half, Bromsgrove midfielder Keanu Cooper shot wide when one-on-one with Silkmen stopper Max Johnstone before Ollie Taylor denied Tom Peers at the other end.
The Rouslers completed the turnaround on 61 minutes as Tee curled a sublime free-kick into the top right corner from 25-yards out to leave Johnstone with no chance.
Shortly after, both Henry and Dawson were sent off following an altercation with the former shown a straight red card and the latter a second yellow.
The visitors went close to an equaliser in the final minute only for Leon Arnasalam’s free-kick from 20-yards out to come back off the post.
Sporting begin their Southern League Premier Central campaign with a home derby against local rivals Redditch United on Saturday, August 5 with kick-off at 3pm at the Victoria Ground.
