BROMSGROVE Sporting suffered a 4-3 defeat against Boldmere St Michaels in a pre-season thriller at Boldmere Community Stadium.
The Roulsers twice scored from the penalty spot courtesy of Harry Crook and Kieran Cook while Luke Rowe found the net from distance for Sporting in a losing effort.
In a frantic start, Boldmere failed to capitalise on a one-on-one opportunity while Ryan Snape and Callum King-Harmes had shots saved at the other end.
And Boldmere broke the deadlock on 23 minutes with a fine curling effort into the top corner.
However, the Rouslers drew level one minute before the break when Crook drew a foul in the box and picked himself up to smash home the resulting penalty.
After Aaron Bishop spurned a chance to put Sporting ahead, Boldmere reclaimed the lead on 53 minutes with some neat footwork in the box before slotting the ball home.
Sporting equalised for a second time four minutes later when Cook’s initial shot hit a Boldmere hand in the box and he stepped up to score from the spot.
Young Rouslers goalkeeper Charlie McNamara then made a fine save to keep out an effort from distance before Joe Hull missed a chance at the near post for Boldmere.
Boldmere eventually made their pressure count when a home player turned the ball home after McNamara made a smart save moments earlier.
Sporting levelled for a third time on 65 minutes as Rowe caught out former Rouslers keeper Jono Brown with a well-struck shot from 25-yards out.
However, Boldmere completed the scoring six minutes later with a tidy finish into the bottom corner after being played through on goal.
Bromsgrove finish their pre-season campaign against Marlow FC on Saturday, August 3 with kick-off at 3pm at the Victoria Ground.
