BROMSGROVE Sporting have appointed Thomas Baillie as the club’s new first team manager.

Baillie replaces Gavin Hurren in the Victoria Ground hot seat and will hope to lift Sporting up the Southern League Premier Central table next season.

The new Sporting boss previously managed both Kettering Town and Stratford Town winning promotion to the Southern Premier Division with the former in 2014/15.

And Baillie led Stratford to the Southern League Premier Central play-offs in 2018/19 having won the Southern League Challenge Cup earlier in the campaign in what was the club’s most successful season to date.

Bromsgrove chairman Mike Burke said: “With Thomas, we feel we have a manager with the knowledge and experience to take us forward and bring the excitement back to the Victoria Ground pitch.

“It has been an intense few weeks, having so many quality applicants hasn’t made for an easy task.

“We would like to thank all those who have shown an interest in the managerial position – the standard of applicants was very high.”

The former Norwich City youth coach was sacked as Tamworth’s Head of Senior Football in February earlier this year having joined the Lambs in June 2019.
