BROMSGROVE Sporting have appointed interim boss and first team coach Scott Adey-Linforth as the club’s new manager on a permanent basis.

Adey-Linforth has won both of his matches in temporary charge of the Rouslers following Paul Smith’s resignation as Sporting boss.

Sporting thrashed Pershore Town 8-2 in the Worcestershire Senior Cup in Adey-Linforth’s first game in charge before then beating Barwell 3-0 to earn a first league win in 10 matches.

Sporting chairman, Rod Brown, said: “Following Paul Smith’s resignation, we have conducted a full evaluation process with regards to who/what we require in identifying our next manager.

“We are pleased to announce that we have offered Scott Adey-Linforth, our current coach, the position of first team manager.

“It was very important that the new manager could work and fulfil the role within the project we are trying to build.

“Scott understands our DNA having worked within it this season to date.

“Scott is an exceptional coach. His role as first team analyst at Aston Villa, plus his experience at this level previously with Stourbridge brings organisation and structure to the team.

“He has managed to galvanise the squad following Paul Smith’s departure and we believe we can give a young, passionate well-drilled coach the opportunity to be part of the club’s journey.”

Bromsgrove currently sit three points from safety in the Southern League Premier Central table.

Adey-Linforth’s first game as permanent Sporting boss sees the Rouslers travel to AFC Sudbury on Saturday, November 23 with kick-off at 3pm at the MEL Group Stadium.
