JAANAI Gordon’s late penalty cancelled out Conor Tee’s earlier spot kick as Bromsgrove Sporting and Alvechurch drew 1-1 to end their respective losing runs.
Substitute Gordon equalised from the spot for Church on 83 minutes after Tee’s 39th minute penalty put Sporting ahead at the Victoria Ground.
Sporting had the game’s first chance when Tee created space for a shot and unleashed a powerful effort that went a couple of yards over the crossbar.
And Tee had another sign of goal soon after as he sent a dipping shot over the bar with Alvechurch goalkeeper Brad Foster backpedalling.
Alvechurch looked to be in moments later only for Aksum White to make a superb last-ditch challenge to deny former Sporting striker Mikey Taylor a shot on goal.
Sporting keeper Ollie Taylor then made a superb acrobatic save to push Jack Concannon’s free-kick behind for a corner with the ball destined for the top-right corner.
At the other end, Callum King-Harmes picked up a loose ball on the edge of the penalty area before driving into the box and having a shot saved low down by Foster.
And the Rouslers forced Foster into another save when the ball broke to Kartell Dawkins 20-yards from goal with the Alvechurch keeper equal to the midfielder’s driven effort.
Sporting won a penalty on 38 minutes when former Rousler Ammar Dyer barged White to the ground in the box and the referee pointed to the spot.
And Tee duly converted the resulting penalty, coolly finding the right corner of the goal with Foster diving the wrong way to send Sporting into the break with a narrow lead.
Chances were at a premium in the second half as Sporting keeper Taylor made a couple of comfortable saves before Ben Cassidy blazed over from inside the penalty area.
However, the game burst into life on 83 minutes when Cassidy drew a foul in the box and substitute Gordon confidently found the net from the penalty spot.
Neither side created a clear opening in the remaining minutes to ensure both teams came away with a point.
