BROMSGROVE Rovers AFC now sit level on points with league leaders following a 4-1 victory against local rivals Redditch Borough, writes Neil Gordon.
A brace from Jack Dawkins and further goals from Liam Chatterley and Bailey Depper-Gwilliams saw Rovers cruise to victory at Cherry Tree Walk.
Bromsgrove now sit joint top of the Birmingham and District Football League Division Two table with Silhill.
However, Silhill remain top of the table on goal difference and have two games in-hand.
Bromsgrove can go three points clear of Silhill on Tuesday, April 8 should they beat Redditch Borough in their penultimate home game, as Rovers switch venues to play midweek and clear a fixture backlog.
Leaders Silhill were without a fixture on Saturday, while second-placed North Solihull beat Division Three outfit Phoenix Town 3-0 to reach the final of the Intermediate Cup where they will play fellow Division Two high-flyers Hopwood Swifts.
In the day’s two other fixtures Boldmere Sports and Social Falcons won 5-2 away at 10th-placed Polesworth North Warwicks, where Nawahl Thompson hit a hat-trick, while Match of the Day and Nechells Athletic swapped places in the table as The Day won 5-1 away at Rupert Street.
Meanwhile, the race for the title could see some midweek drama with the top four sides in action as efforts continue to clear a fixtures backlog.
Bromsgrove can go three points clear if they beat basement side Redditch Borough on Tuesday, 24 hours before Silhill play fourth-placed Hampton Sports at Field Lane, while third-placed North Solihull face Match of The Day at Woodfield Academy on Wednesday.
And eight-placed Nechells Athletic host sixth-placed Hopwood Swifts at Rupert Street on Thursday.
Bromsgrove play Redditch Borough on Tuesday, April 8 with kick-off at 6.15pm at Eldorado Close in Studley and admission free.
