BROMSGROVE Rovers AFC secured an impressive third-place finish in Division Three of the Birmingham and District Football League in only their second season of competitive football, writes Neil Gordon.

Rovers beat Wake Green Amateurs 3-0 thanks to goals from Jack Hopper and Ash Pardoe at Drawbridge Road as the side secured their 11th straight league victory for the club founded in 2021.

The Greens have taken a maximum 33 points since last tasting defeat in October and just missed out on finishing as runners-up and achieving automatic promotion.

Hopper put Rovers ahead when he opened the scoring with a header from close range early on before Pardoe doubled Bromsgrove’s lead before half time.

And Pardoe made sure of the points early in the second half when he pounced to double his tally for the game.

Bromsgrove conclude their league campaign against Hampton Sports at Field Lane on Saturday, April 27 with kick-off at 2.30pm and admission free.
