BROMSGROVE Rovers AFC have achieved a third-place finish after completing their first season in Division One of the Birmingham and District Football League, writes Neil Gordon.
Competing at their highest level of football since the club formed four years ago, Rovers AFC recorded 11 league victories from 18 games to collect 34 points – just seven points behind champions Sutton United.
Rovers received three points from the league at the end of the season after FC Stratford failed to honour a fixture against Bromsgrove.
And Bromsgrove boss Spencer Machin bowed out after four successful years at the helm.
The club’s rise through the Birmingham League began in 2022/23 as Rovers AFC secured promotion from Division Three at the second attempt.
Bromsgrove then achieved a post-season promotion to Division One last summer.
Sutton claimed the Division One title on goal difference from runners-up Desi this season after both teams finished level on 41 points.
United’s goal difference of plus 28 secured the title against Desi’s plus 26 goal difference.
Sutton needed a victory of any scoreline on the final day to be crowned champions and duly defeated North Solihull 3-2 via Sam Addo’s double and Pete Bannister’s clincher.
Meanwhile, Hampton Sports finished fourth on 29 points, with Village fifth on 23 points.
North Solihull and Hollyfields finished sixth and seventh respectively on 18 points each.
Solihull’s goal difference of zero put them ahead of Hollyfields who finished on minus six.
Kings Heath Rangers finished eighth on 17 points, while last season’s Division Two champions Silhill, unexpectedly finished ninth on 14 points, after just four victories and two draws.
And FC Stratford finished bottom in 10th with 12 points to complete the 2025/26 final standings, while Kingstone Alliance and Hopwood Swifts both resigned mid-season.
