BROMSGROVE ROVERS AFC secured their place in the Bill Hill Cup semi-finals with a 2-1 victory away at Village (C).
Early goals from Dan Hagyard and Charlie Rowe proved decisive after Steve Evans reduced the deficit for Birmingham and District Football League Division Four strugglers Village at Aston University.
Rovers will play divisional rivals Galore in the semi-finals with the tie to take place at the start of next month.
Bromsgrove dominated the early exchanges and broke the deadlock after just six minutes when Hagyard finished at the second attempt after the home goalkeeper parried his initial effort.
And Rowe quickly doubled Rovers’ lead two minutes later with an emphatic finish after great work from Ash Pardoe.
Village hit back on 34 minutes when Evans halved the deficit but Rovers held on to secure a sixth successive victory in all competitions.
Bromsgrove are next in action at home to Amanah on Saturday, January 20 in the Intermediate Cup quarter-finals with kick-off at 1.30pm at South Bromsgrove High School.
