RAMPANT Bromsgrove Rovers AFC romped to a 7-0 victory over lower-ranked Oldbury United in the first round of the Intermediate Cup, writes Neil Gordon.

Goals from Alex Hopper and Jake Byford put the Greens in command at half-time at Eldorado Close.

And Ash Pardoe extended the lead before both Jack Hopper and Bailey Depper-Gwilliams scored braces to complete the rout.

The victory marks Bromsgrove’s biggest competitive win since December 2022 and first clean sheet in seven games.

The side also gained their first victory at Studley Sports and Social Club since relocating from Charford Road at the tail end of last season.

Bromsgrove now return to league action, entertaining Birmingham and District Football League Division One title contenders Sutton United.

The Greens accepted promotion to Division One during the summer after just missing out on automatic promotion from Division Two last season.

Bromsgrove host Sutton at Eldorado Close on Saturday, September 27. Kick-off is 2.30pm and admission free.
