BROMSGROVE ROVERS AFC manager Spencer Machin has challenged his players to go on and win the league title after reaching the halfway point of the season, writes Neil Gordon.
Rovers sit just one point behind leaders Silhill B in the Birmingham and District League Division Two table with a game in-hand.
And Rovers boss Machin insists Bromsgrove can win the league title if his players show the right commitment.
Machin said: “We haven’t been able to put the same team out in any of the games played.
“However, I believe if we can get the players to be more consistent with their commitment to the cause, we can go on and win the league.
“We started the season slowly but since then we have battled well and out fought teams to win league games.
“We have not played the greatest football in some games, but we sit one point off top spot in the table, with a game in hand having beaten the league leaders already.”
Bromsgrove have won their last seven league matches and inflicted Silhill’s only defeat of the season with a resounding 5-2 victory in October.
The Greens earned promotion to Division Two of the Birmingham League last summer and are now playing at their highest level in its short three-year history.
Bromsgrove are next in action against North Solihull on Saturday, January 4 with kick-off at 2pm at South Bromsgrove High School.
