FOOTBALL - Bromsgrove Rovers AFC looking for further progress as New Year dawns

Bromsgrove Editorial 31st Dec, 2025   0

BROMSGROVE Rovers AFC begin the New Year looking for more progress both in league and cup competitions as they commence a run of home fixtures, writes Neil Gordon.

The Greens currently have games in hand on numerous teams in Division One of the Birmingham and District Football League, with the club also still involved in the Holder and Intermediate cups.

Bromsgrove endured mixed fortunes in the league during the first-half of the season, having been awarded all three points by the League after their defeat to Desi was overturned, before then having three points deducted from their excellent victory over Kingstone Alliance, after Alliance quit the league.

Currently, Bromsgrove sit eighth in Division One on six points, with the points coming from victory over Village B, plus the Away Walkover award against Desi.

Rovers are now aiming to take maximum points from their forthcoming Division One fixture against Hampton Sports at Eldorado Close, Studley, on Saturday, January 3.

Victory will see the Greens move up four places in the table to fourth, before switching their attention back to cup competitions.

In the Holder Cup, Bromsgrove host Premier Division strugglers Kawala at Eldorado Close on January 10, before staging an Intermediate Cup quarter-final tie against Walsall-based I.S.S.A. FC on January 17.

And the results of these three home games could give an indication of how the second-half of the season may progress for the Greens.

Bromsgrove entertain Hampton Sports on Saturday, January 3. Kick-off is 2pm at Eldorado Close and admission free.
