ELLIOTT Ball’s injury-time goal secured a dramatic 2-1 win for Bromsgrove Sporting against Hitchin Town as the Rouslers extended their unbeaten run in the league to four matches.

Ball rose highest to head home six minutes into time added on after Finley Wilkinson had equalised for Hitchin late on following Keanu Cooper’s opener at the Victoria Ground.

And the result means Sporting sit seventh in the Southern League Premier Central table, one point outside of the play-off places.

The Rouslers took the lead on 35 minutes when Cooper turned home Conor Tee’s cross from close range to send Bromsgrove into the break with a one-goal advantage.

Sporting had chances to extend their lead in the second period before Hitchin equalised with three minutes left to play as Wilkinson fired home via the aid of a deflection through a crowd of bodies.

Rouslers keeper Ollie Taylor then made a superb save diving at full stretch to his left to keep out Jack Snelus’s powerful free-kick.

And Sporting made the most of that save to win the game six minutes into injury time as Ball headed Aksum White’s cross into the bottom right corner to clinch a dramatic victory.

Bromsgrove are next in action away at Nuneaton Borough on Tuesday, October 24 with kick-off at 7.45pm at Liberty Way.
