ALVECHURCH have made midfielder Demi Akinwe the club’s second summer signing whilst Jack Hallahan has agreed a new deal for the 2023/24 season.

Akinwe arrives from local rivals Bromsgrove Sporting where he spent the last few months of the season following a spell with Hednesford Town.

The 19-year-old was previously part of West Bromwich Albion’s academy and left Shrewsbury Town last summer after featuring for Salop at youth level.

Akinwe said: “I like to get up and down the pitch and bring some attacking flair to the team. I bring speed, power and calmness on the ball.

“Alvechurch like to bring in a lot of young players and that’s what attracted me to come here, I just want to play and I can’t wait to get going.”

Hallahan returns to Lye Meadow following a short stint with Evesham United after the midfielder originally signed for Church in November 2021.

Hallahan said: “I’m delighted to be back here, I feel very comfortable here, I’ve loved every minute of it. The fans, the management and the chairman were all fantastic in supporting me last season.

“The aims this season will be to improve on the FA Cup run and the league standing, the manager has very high standards, we want to be right up there.

“It was a good experience [at Evesham], I got a lot of game time, I’m going to take the confidence from playing there to Alvechurch this coming season.”
