Ellicott snatches late winner as Studley Lions retain Centenary Cup

STUDLEY Lions roared back from a goal down to beat Winyates and retain the Bromsgrove League Centenary Cup.

George Adams put Winyates ahead after just two minutes but Lions were level after the break when Jamie Hatfield nodded home from a corner.

With penalties looking likely, a long throw was flicked on into the path of young midfielder Ben Ellicott who slotted the ball home at the far post to win the tie in stoppage time.

Hawthorns are the through to the final of the Bromsgrove Charity Junior Cup after overcoming Chaddesley Corbett 5-2.




Jimmy Ward (3) and Kyle Morrison (2) were on target for Hawthorns.

There was a shock in the WA Harris Cup quarter-finals where Austin Ex Apprentices were beaten 4-3 by Bromsgrove Athletico.

BGIS Fairfield are through to the last four after goals from Reece Ward, Carl Martin and Connor Collins fired them to a 3-0 victory over Rubery United while Highgate Dynamos beat Kings Norton Sporting 4-3 on penalties after the two sides were locked at 2-2 after 90 minutes.

Awkies Allstars are the first Bridgwater Cup semi-finalists after they edged past Chaddesley Pensioners 1-0, thanks to a goal from Alex Wesley.

Meadow Park Youth sealed their place in the quarter-finals with an emphatic 6-2 victory over Bromsgrove Academicals in their final Group A clash.

James Bullock (2), Aaron Marks, Will Symonds and James Clayton scored for Meadow Park.

AFC Northfield made it ten wins out of ten in Division One after thumping Quinton Athletic 7-0 while Avenue were 6-0 winners at Sporting Club Redditch.

There was one game in Division Two where Bromsgrove Corinthians beat Chaddesley Ravens while in the sole Division Three clash Arrow Valley enjoyed a 5-1 victory over Royal Eagles.

Josh Russell, Nick Rumbold, Paul Halfpenny, Connor Atkinson and Darryl King all netted for Valley.

AFC Norton went goal crazy in Division Four as they cruised to a 13-3 victory at Millfield Rovers.

David Challenor led the way for Norton with five goals while Sam Allen-Ralph (3), Craig Williams (2), Ollie Jones, Connor Chipman and Joseph Iafrati completed their scoring.

Elsewhere, Redditch Borough beat Stoke Prior 4-1.
