THERE was a healthy turnout of Bromsgrove & Redditch Athletic Club runners for the Hagley 10k staged by Halesowen A&CC as part of a midweek series of four races.
The tough one-lap road race featured some new and old B&R faces including the winner, former B&R member Simon Lanckham, now of Birmingham Running, Athletics and Triathlon Club, in 35 minutes 33 seconds.
Runner-up was Karl Welborn of Tipton Harriers in 36.18.
B&R were led home by tenth-placed Malcolm Duff in 38.13.
B&R placings were: 12th Ashley Ross, 38.31; 14th and 1st O/45 Robert Mole, 38.40; 19th Mark Tanner, 39.29; 22nd and 2nd O/40 Andrew Freeman, 39.50; 32nd Darryll Thomas, 42.00; 34th and 2nd woman Tamara Freeman, 42.12; 35th Anthony Warner, 42.16; 44th Joshua Wiseman 43.33; 52nd and 1st O/60 Phil Richardson, 42.22; 64th Huw Wiseman, 45.58; 124th and 2nd O/50 Charlotte Ball, 55.11; 142nd Jayne Wiseman, 60.00.
The next race in the series is the Redditch 12k multi-terrain event at Arrow Valley Park on Wednesday, June 14.
A TRIO of B&R athletes competed in Sunday’s Worcester Half Marathon.
Gavin Moorhead was 13th, Kevin Lanckham 28th and first O/50 and Huw Wiseman 87th.
At the Highgate Harriers Night of the 10,000m PBs in London, Redditch athlete Joe Smith finished 12th in a new personal best of 31.08 on the track.
