ONLY TWO games involving Bromsgrove Sporting Colts survived Storm Ciara in the Midlands Junior Premier League last weekend.
The U16 Colts Reds edged Tipton Town 2-1 with the last kick of the game in a tight encounter at Ryland Centre.
After taking the lead through Andrew Edwards’ expert finish from Louis Grocott’s inch-perfect cross, a leveller from Harry Hughes looked set to earn Town a point.
But despite not being at their best for large spells of the encounter, Nashon Dawson pounced at the death to earn a fifth win of the season for Sporting.
In the under-18s section, a 2-2 draw against high-fliers Eckington Juniors proved a respectable result for the U17 Colts.
Man-of-the-match Andrew Barnett struck the opener, while substitute Finlay O’Neill was also on the scoresheet for the hosts. Ben Oliver and Lewis Phelps replied for Eckington.
None of the Colts’ teams were in action on Sunday, with all games postponed.
