BROMSGROVE Sporting have brought in defender Grant Horton on a work experience loan from Cheltenham Town.
Horton, a second-year scholar at the club, has been with Cheltenham since the age of nine, and was in the first-team squad for the Robins’ Carabao Cup first-round tie against Bristol Rovers on Tuesday night.
He has previously appeared on loan at Midlands Football League Premier Division side Worcester City, and will provide cover for the injured Tom Taylor – who is expected to be out for four to six weeks.
Commenting on the signing, manager Brendan Kelly said: “Grant can play anywhere along the back line, so it’s a huge plus for the squad following Tom Taylor’s injury.
“He’s a clever defender and extremely quick, so we are glad to have his services.
“I would like to thank Cheltenham for their cooperation in the deal – Grant is available for selection immediately.”
