CATSHILL’S Kelly Phasey stormed to another title after shining at the British Equipped Powerlifting Championships in Lincolnshire at the weekend.

The 41-year-old took top spot in the 84+kgs weight category at Horncastle.

Her highlights of the event included a 170kg squat, a 150.5kg bench press and 170kg a deadlift.

Phasey’s success has led to her being invited to represent Great Britain’s Equipped Bench Press squad at April’s World Championships in South Africa and October’s European Championships in Luxembourg.

She is also participating in the European Masters Championships in Sweden as an assistant coach for the British powerlifting masters team.

Phasey has represented GB five times since taking up the sport in 2013 and has broken 13 British records, won five British titles and won a bronze medal in the World Classic Powerlifting Championships in Minsk, Belarus, last year.
