BROMSGROVE triathlete Sam Boswell is over the moon after being crowned British Champion.

Competing against the best triathletes across the country in the British Middle Distance Triathlon, Boswell came out on top as she finished first in her category.

The race, which was held at Grafham Water and attracted 980 entrants, started with a 1,900m swim, followed by a 90km undulating bike ride before a 21km run.

Boswell, who is sponsored by Elliot Nash Limited, not only finished first in her category but third overall.

“The race was the most enjoyable event I have ever competed in, well organised and a great atmosphere,” she said.

“I am thrilled to be British Champion and training is going better than I realised, to have taken third overall was a real shock.

“I also took 13 minutes off my previous personal best which I set 13 years ago when I was a lot younger.”

Boswell completed the triathlon in a time of four hours and 45 minutes, almost 25 minutes in front of her closest rival.

The result is Boswell’s second win of the season after she won the Hereford Duathlon last month.

Boswell is a full-time sports massage therapist and anyone interested in sports or remedial massage or being involved in sponsorship can contact her at [email protected].
