Bromsgrove triathlete Boswell wins comeback event in Hereford

Ben Tyler 15th Apr, 2019

BROMSGROVE Ironman triathlete Sam Boswell has made a stunning comeback to the sport, just four months after having surgery.

She made her return at the Hereford Duathlon last weekend, winning both her age group and the event overall – three minutes faster than the next female to cross the line.

Completing a 4.6 mile run, 19 miles by bike, and the second run of 2.2 miles, admittedly shorter distances than she is used to, Boswell fended off the tough conditions on the hilly course to come out on top.

Sponsored by Elliot Nash Ltd, who also sponsor Bromsgrove Sporting, Boswell has praised the support she has received from the local company.

“I’m incredibly lucky to have this continued support from Elliott Nash ltd and the faith of people in my return to fitness,” she said.

“I still have a way to go and training is not as consistent as I would like it to be, as I’m still allowing for recovery, but it’s a promising start.”
