BROMSGROVE A and David Lloyd Bromsgrove A are both looking to bounce back in Division One of the men’s Herefordshire and Worcestershire Summer League, following defeats last time out.

Fourth-placed Bromsgrove A were edged out 8-6 by leaders Worcester A last time out, despite the duo of Adam Dudek and Oliver Stratford opening with a 6-4, 1-6, 7-6 victory against Nicholas Aylett and Jonathan Bradshaw.

The Worcester pair then beat Bromsgrove’s Jim Round and Steve Halfpenny in straight sets 6-4, 6-4, before a Bromsgrove walkover in the third match put Worcester in front.

Dudek and Stratford earned a 6-4, 6-2 win, followed up by a 6-4, 6-4 victory for Round and Halfpenny, to level the match overall.

But a second walkover of the game in the decider handed Bromsgrove defeat, ahead of Sunday’s clash with sixth-placed Worcester B.

David Lloyd Bromsgrove remain bottom after losing all six of their rubbers to Droitwich Spa A.

The pairings of Liam Hadfield and James Troth, Henry Myatt and Cormac O’Connor, and James Nolan and Stephen Binnion, all failed to win a single rubber.

However, with games in hand to play, DL Bromsgrove can lift themselves out of trouble against second-placed Manor Park B on Wednesday.
