Bromsgrove swimmers guide Worcestershire to gala glory

FOUR Bromsgrove SC members helped Worcestershire to Three Counties Gala glory.

Michael Bray, Emily Bower, Jacob Elliott and Ellie Mansell travelled to Gloucester to help the county bring home the cup.

Worcestershire ended the day with 329 points, Staffordshire with 322 and Gloucestershire with 269.

Bray competed in four 12-year-old events, coming third in the 100m freestyle (1:07.09 PB), second in the 100m backstroke (1:14.40), third in the freestyle relay (2:06.16) and third in the medley relay (2:23.89).




Bower, competing for the first time at the gala, took part in two ten-year-old events.

She came first in the medley relay (2:16.86) and second in the freestyle relay (3:05.89).


Elliot was swimming in the 14-year-old events and secured a personal best in the 100m breaststroke with a time of 1:09.76 to secure second.

He also came first in the freestyle relay (1:42.80) and medley relay (1:54.46).

Mansell, also swimming at the Three Counties for the first time, also competed in two ten-year-old races.

She finished second in two freestyle relays in times of 2:14.06 and 3:05.89 respectively.
