MANAGER Paul Smith says he has found the ‘final piece’ of the Bromsgrove Sporting jigsaw by capturing the signature of Hereford defender Dan Preston.
The 26-year-old has joined from the Southern League Premier side on a dual registration and will go straight into tomorrow’s (Saturday) squad for the Midland League Premier Division clash at Stourport Swifts.
Having confirmed John Pykett and Ahmed Ali would be returning, boss Paul Smith was delighted to get a deal for the former Birmingham City centre-half.
“Dan is a big, strong defender and is exactly what I was looking for,” said Smith.
“I wanted one last addition and needed to strengthen the defence with a bit more experience.
“Dan fits the bill perfectly and I am delighted to get the deal done.
“I am really pleased the board have backed me to sign him and hopefully he is the final piece of the jigsaw.”
Preston has also played for AFC Telford United, Barrow and Tamworth during his career.
