Bromsgrove School's under-13 girls' hockey team crowned county champions

BROMSGROVE School is celebrating after its under-13 girls’ hockey team were crowned county champions.

In the group stage, Bromsgrove beat The Chase School and Malvern St James Girls’ School 1-0 and 4-0 respectively to progress as Group One winners.

RGS Worcester awaited in the semi-final and a tense game, which resulted in sudden death penalty strokes, saw Bromsgrove claim a 3-2 victory.

In the final the Bromsgrove girls showed great character and skill to dominate their opponents King’s Worcester before running out 2-0 winners.

The team, which consisted of Lucy McLoughlin, Beth Lawson, Katie Murray, Hannah Lawson, Megan Langford, Izzy Jones, Anabel Crowder, Ellen Ashton, Katie Rolph and Natasha Malam, is now in training for the regional round which will be played after Christmas.
