Bromsgrove School's U13 hockey team claims Plate trophy at IAPS National Finals

BROMSGROVE Prep School’s under-13 hockey team claimed the Plate trophy at the IAPS National Finals at Millfield School in Somerset.

In their first group match, Bromsgrove played the eventual champions Felsted Prep (Essex) and lost 3-0.

This put them under pressure to win their next match against Forres Sandle Manor (Hampshire).

Despite leading 1-0 at half-time, Bromsgrove were eventually beaten 3-1.




The under-13s then proceeded to beat St Hughes (Oxford) 5-2 and Cargilfield (Edinburgh) 4-1.

Those results ensured Bromsgrove finished third in their group and would contest the Plate competition.


Bromsgrove beat Somerset schools All Hallows and Hazlegrove 2-0 and 3-2 respectively in the quarter- and semi-finals 3-2.

They then won the Plate final with a 4-1 victory over The Beacon (Somerset) and secured an overall ranking of ninth in the United Kingdom.
