Bromsgrove & Redditch Athletics Club end season on a high

THE CROSS country season drew to a close in impressive fashion for Bromsgrove & Redditch Athletic Club runners at the Inter-Counties Cross Country Championships on Saturday.

Yet again the club’s under 15 girls showed their class as a group as they starred on a tough course at Cofton Park in Longbridge.

B&R had athletes competing in seven of the ten races and the under 15 girls finished as the top five for Worcestershire.

Amy Mijovic-Couldwell was 54th, Ellen Bowen 86th, Anna Nicod 121st, Alice Battey 149th and Ellie Moss 234th as the girls finished 23rd out of 43 teams.




Joe Smith and Conor Smith were the top placed athletes for Worcestershire as they came 65th and 35th in the senior men’s and under 17 men’s races respectively.

Their club-mate Simon Lanckham finished 215th in the senior men’s race and Gareth Richardson and Alex Johnson were 183rd and 246th respectively in the under 17 men’s event.


Ruth Gameson came 124th in the under 20 women’s race and in the under 13 boys’ event Josh Robins was 206th.

The under 13 girls’ race produced a 135th placed finish for Natalie Hatfield and Tom Deykin was 196th in the under 15 boys’ event.
