Bromsgrove Prep School boys and girls shine at District Cross Country Championships

YOUNGSTERS from Bromsgrove Prep School shined at the District Cross Country Championships.

A total of 48 boys from Years 5, 6, 7 and 8 took part in the event hosted by the school.

Oliver Dieppe took first in the Year 5 race while in the Year 6 race, the school’s highest finishes were William Pridden (2nd), Tom Fullard (4th), James Hobbs (5th) and Jack Barnett (8th).

In the Year 7 race, Rohan Adams and Lucas Ingram took second and third respectively with Fin Dinnen (6th), Oscar Bridgewater (9th) and Toby Lewis (10th) finishing further down the order.




Sebastian Purvis crossed the line first in the Year 8 race ahead of fellow pupils Henry Jinks (3rd), Callum Wilkinson (6th), Jack Warner (7th) and Williams Hobbs (12th).

All four boys from the Year 8 race have since been selected to represent the district’s under-15 team at the Herefordshire and Worcestershire County Championships on Saturday, January 20.


Meanwhile, the prep school’s Year 5 girls ran exceptionally well for the first time around the course and the positions were as follows: Tilly Wilkins 7th, Megs Higgs 11th, Jessica Fox 13th, Phoebe Dinnen 25th, Ruby Foster 27th, Lauren Whitby 29th and Abigail Lamb 30th.

In the Year 6 race, Scarlet Preston came second with Teah Petrova (5th), Honey Bo Luscombe (6th), Elizabeth Smith (14th), Lily Milojevic (18th) and Isabelle Kavanagh (21st) also finishing.

Elsewhere, Ella Kenward (4th) led the way for the girls in the Year 7 race.

The other positions were: Charlotte Jones 5th, Emelia Moberley 7th, Freya Lawton 14th, Katherine Sutherland 17th, Sophia Sellers 27th, Harriet Owen 28th, Emma Dunnaker 31st, Emily Dyer 32nd and Libby Rolph 41st.
