BROMSGROVE hard man Ricky Nelder has a new opponent for next week’s world title fight.

Promoters UBBAD have stripped UFC legend Joe Rigg of the light-heavyweight belt after he pulled out of next Saturday’s fight in Liverpool and Goran Beljic has stepped in.

The Italian also comes from an MMA background and has been sharpening his boxing skills with the coaches who took Roberto Cammarelle to the top of the world.

Cammarelle won two world amateur titles and Olympic super heavyweight gold in Beijing in 2008 and was denied gold in London three years ago by Anthony Joshua.

Cammarelle has since retired from the ring.

Matchmaker Jim Freeman describes Beljic as a good stand-up boxer and very tough to beat.

“Ricky and Beljic are both very tough lads and I’m sure we’re going to see a good fight,” Freeman added.

“Ricky needs to be at his best to win.”

Nelder steps up after winning the British title with his all-out aggression and he will take big support up with him to the Echo Arena for next weekend’s fight.

Tickets for the show are available from 07341 935203.
