BROMSGROVE’s Mixed A got their Herefordshire and Worcestershire Division One campaign off to the perfect start with a maximum points victory at Ledbury A.
Rachael Mack partnered Kelly Kenward who stepped up from the B team.
They fought out a hard opening three-set victory, taking the final set 6-4, before a more straight forward 6-2, 6-2 win in their second encounter.
Regular first-team pairing of Tina Manning with Sally Franks were just too strong for the opposition and cruised to comfortable two set wins as Bromsgrove won 4-0 overall, dropping just the one set.
Captain Franks said: “It’s always good to take maximum points and is a brilliant way to start the winter campaign.”
Meanwhile, the Ladies F and G teams faced each other in their Division Ten East opener, with the former taking a maximum points victory.
The F pairs of Alison Douglas with Carol Cornelissen and Claire Hancock with Di Horton did not drop a set against Sue Murray with Karen Southall and Claire Andrews with Annabel Whitmore.
New F captain Hancock said: “Despite the scores, it was a tough match as we all know how each other plays, but a good start for us.”
