ANOTHER piece of silverware was added to Barnt Green’s trophy cabinet after their u17s side ended their season by winning the County Cup in emphatic fashion.
After being invited to bat by Stourport, Green scored an imposing 149 off 20 overs, with Tom Banton retiring for 53. He was supported well by Ed Saunders with 28 and Harry Thompson scoring a quick fire 22.
In reply, Stourport struggled against some tight bowling and finished their innings at 98-8. Jake Johnstone returned with figures of 4-13 in four overs.
Stewart Johnstone, of Barnt Green, said: “It is a good way to end the season by winning the county cup for the first time at u17 with a team ranging from U14 upwards.”
