BARNT Green Sports Club’s squash section are celebrating after club legend Bett Dryhurst walked away with a silver medal at the 70 World Masters Squash tournament.
Bett travelled to Johannesburg, South Africa, for the competition at the end of September where she finished second after losing 6-11, 11-6, 8-11, 11-8, 11-5 to Ann Manley.
Her silver medal adds to her long list of successes which include British and World Championships in both squash and racquetball.
The junior section also had a fantastic weekend at the Worcestershire Closed Championships with more than 20 players competing and a range of success in both the boys and girls categories.
In the girls section, Scarlet Preston won the under-11s, Millie Flynn won the under-13s, Daisy Hill won the under-15s and Kiera Marshall won the under-19s.
In the boy’s competitions, 12-year-old Sam Osborne-Wylde won both the boys under-17 and under-19 categories.
There were also runner up positions for Jack Barnett, Andrew Cambell, Harley Williams, and April Parry.
