BROMSGROVE’S Meadow Park Girls under 10s have won the Mercian League Cup after thrashing West Worcester 6-1 in today’s final.
The game started tightly with both teams evenly matched until Meadow Park took the lead and then raced into a two-goal lead.
In an action-packed match, West Worcester struck straight back before Meadow Park added a third from a tremendous 25-yard free kick by Evie Jones.
After that Meadow Park looked comfortable and went on to seal the match and the trophy 6-1.
Andy Walker, who manages the team with Ben Bevins, said: “It would have been a lot more if it wasn’t for West Worcester’s keeper who had a great game and was named player of the match.
“Myself and Ben are really proud of the girls as they are a pleasure to work with – we would also like to thank the parents and sponsors for there continued support.
“We would also like to wish West Worcester all the best for next season.”
