Your guide to the Bromsgrove seats in the 2025 Worcestershire County Council elections

RESIDENTS across Bromsgrove district, along with those in the rest of Worcestershire will be heading to the polls on Thursday, May 1.

There will be 57 Worcestershire County Council seats contested across 53 divisions, including nine in Bromsgrove district.

Polls will be open from 7am to 10pm when all the ballot boxes across Bromsgrove and the rest of the county will be collected.

The count will be held at North Bromsgrove High School from 10am on Friday, May 2, and we at the Standard will be there to bring you all the results live.

The current make-up of Worcestershire County Council – as determined by the 2021 vote and any subsequent by-elections – is 45 Conservative, 3 Labour, 4 Liberal Democrat and 5 others.,

Here are the candidates for the Bromsgrove.

The Alvechurch seat will be contested by Alan Bailes (Independent), John Ball (The Green Party), Gillian Bell (Liberal Democrats), Douglas Bridger (Labour) , Danny Bromage (Local Conservatives) and Lisa Cresswell (Reform UK).




In Beacon there will be Anita Dale (The Conservative Party), Jill Harvey (The Green Party), Peter McDonald (Labour), Peter Turner (Reform UK)  and Sara Jane Woodhouse (Liberal Democrats).

Bromsgrove Central candidates include David Hopkins (Labour), Adrian Kriss (Conservative), Peter Measham (The Green Party), Joshua Robinson (Liberal Democrats) and Chris Thomas (Reform UK) .


The Bromsgrove East seat will be contested by John Cochrane (Labour), Samuel Evans (Liberal Democrats), Peter Harvey (The Green Party), Charlie Hotham (Independent), Kit Taylor (Conservative) and Bob Waller (Reform UK).

Standing in Bromsgrove South will be Sam Ammar (Liberal Democrats), Norman Cooke (The Green Party), Kyle Daisley (Independent), Gaynor Jean-Louis (Reform UK) , Helen Jones (Conservative ) and Ian Woodall (Labour).

Among the Bromsgrove West division candidates are James Clarke (Liberal Democrats), Rita Dent (Conservative), Esther Gray (Labour), Nik Price (Reform UK) and John Smout (The Green Party).

Those standing in Clent Hills include Steven Colella (Independent), Stuart Davies (The Green Party), Stan Francis (Independent), Karen May (Conservative), Dr David Nicholl (Liberal Democrats), Laura Rollins (Labour and Co-operative Party) and Donna Westwood (Reform UK).

In Woodvale, there will be Sheridan Bellingham (Labour), Mark Dunkley (Reform UK, Martin German (Liberal Democrats), Julian Gray (The Green Party) and Shirley Webb (Conservative).

And in Wythall will be Valerie Jane Clarke (Liberal Democrats), Adam Kent (Local Conservatives), Adrian Lee (Labour), Stephen Peters (Reform UK), Amelia Quirk (The Green Party and Sean Taylor (Independent).
