Tristan Harris 24th Sep, 2019 Updated: 24th Sep, 2019

THIS weekend the latest term of Bromsgrove Rock School starts up and musicians from across the district are being sought to take part.

Singers, songwriters, guitarists, bassists, drummers and keyboard players aged between 11 and 18 are all welcome to the sessions which start  on Saturday, September 28.

Participants can either be put into bands, join an existing band, create their own material or work on cover versions across a multitude of musical genres, including pop, indie, funk and heavy metal.

Sessions led by professional musician and tutor Brian Hoggard take place on Saturday mornings during term-time at St John’s Middle School.

The classes are supported by guitarist Loz Ruston and vocal coach Givvi Flynn and see the young people work towards an end of term gig.

This term there will be an additional live performance opportunity with the Bromsgrove Rock School booked to perform at the Santa Fun Run with the Primrose Hospice, at Arrow Valley Lake on December 1.

Brian Hoggard said: “Bromsgrove Rock School provides a safe and supportive environment where young musicians can develop their skills with support and guidance.

“We also welcome those who are already in a band but need somewhere to practice.

“If you have a musical talent and want to become even more awesome then Rock School is the place to be.”

For further details about joining email or  call Brian Hoggard on 07720 211002.
